Registering with Profile Update

If you are using Profile Update (or MY FindLaw) for the first time, you will need to register. During the registration process, you will designate an e-mail address and a password, which you will use to sign on to Profile Update in the future.

Note  If you are registered for MY FindLaw, use your MY FindLaw e-mail address and password to sign on to Profile Update. See Signing On to Profile Update for details.

Complete the following steps to register with Profile Update:

  1. Go to profileupdate.findlaw.com in your Web browser. The Welcome to Profile Update page is displayed.

  2. Click Register.

  3. Type your e-mail address in the Email address text box, then type the verification text in the Retype text from above text box.

Note  The verification text is case-sensitive.

  1. Click Submit. A page instructing you to check your e-mail is displayed.

A Registration Request is sent to the e-mail address you provided in step 4 with further instructions.

  1. In the Registration Request e-mail, click the link to complete the registration process.

Note  This link is valid for 24 hours. If the link expires, you must start the registration process again from the beginning.

The page requesting additional information to complete your registration is displayed.

  1. Type the appropriate information in the required displayed fields and click Submit. A message, "Account has been created," is displayed.

  1. Click Continue. The Profile Update Sign In page is displayed.

  2. Type your login (e-mail) and password, and click Sign In. The Terms of Service Agreement is displayed.

  3. Review the Terms of Service Agreement and click Yes to accept the agreement.

Note  If you click No, you are directed to the sign-out page.

  1. Click Submit. The Security page is displayed.

  1. Click Continue.

You can begin the Profile Update process by finding and claiming your profile.
